How to connect
A quick walk-through of how your session works. Nothing to figure out ahead of time, we'll guide you through every step live. You're always in control, and we only connect while you're watching.
Your video call (Zoom or phone)
When you booked, you chose phone or Zoom:
- Phone: we'll call you at your appointment time. Nothing to install.
- Zoom: your confirmation and calendar invite include a Zoom link. At your appointment time, just click it, it opens in your browser or the Zoom app, and no account is needed.
Remote support (only if we need to work on your computer)
For a remote session, we connect to your screen so we can fix things directly. We'll set this up with you on the call, it takes a couple of minutes the first time:
- We'll send you a small download link and stay on the line while it installs.
- You'll read us a short code from your screen so we can connect, we can't get in without it.
- You watch the whole time, and you can end the session whenever you like.
On a Mac: a couple of one-time permissions
Apple asks you to give screen-control apps permission the first time, this is normal and only happens once. We'll walk you to the exact spot: System Settings → Privacy & Security, where you turn on Screen Recording and Accessibility for the support app. We'll tell you exactly which boxes to check while we're on the call, so you don't have to hunt for anything.
Peace of mind
- We only connect while you're there and watching.
- You can end the session at any time.
- Please back up important files before any service, just good practice.
